When Jean & Gray was formed, our goal was clear– to create only the finest pearl jewellery in existence and to be a brand that stands for excellence.

At Jean & Gray, we understand that not all pearls are created equal. Our commitment to true excellence means we sift through thousands of pearls, often accepting only the rarest and finest. Owing to our rigorous standards, it is not uncommon for us to select only a small handful of pearls from a batch of a few hundred.

Beyond internal grading, our pearls also carry the coveted Pearl Science Laboratory (PSL) top quality mark, ensuring that only the best pass through. Any pearl falling short of this benchmark is immediately rejected. For example, our Akoya pearls bear the Hanadama/ Tennyo grade, our Black south sea and Golden south sea bears the Lagoon/Peacock and Chakin titles respectively, and our White south sea pearls are graded Phoenix/Venus. These are titles that are bestowed onto only the finest and most flawless of pearls.

What sets our pearls apart? Each one boasts a flawless surface, breathtaking lustre, and thick nacre — a hallmark of true indulgence and longevity. Only the most skilled craftsmen, with decades of experience, are allowed to transform these pearls into both our ready-to-wear and bespoke masterpieces. Every creation undergoes meticulous quality checks to ensure perfection.
